Select your career mentor!

Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) Faculty of Informatics (IF) announces a competition for students to select a career mentor in the academic year of 2022-2023! Students who are willing to have a career mentor are invited to participate in the selection on the KTU Academic Information System (AIS).

What is a career mentor?

A career mentor is an experienced person in the professional field, who will help you not only with questions about your specialty and career, but will also develop your leadership and communication skills.

Why should you have a career mentor?

  • A career mentor will introduce you to your specialty in the labor market;
  • will encourage the setting of the personal career goals and their implementation;
  • will teach and advise on communication and cooperation issues;
  • will advise to which things you have to pay attention while studying;
  • will encourage to achieve good results;
  • will help you create a personal development plan and advise you how to implement it;
  • will help you to develop leadership competencies.

If you like to have a career mentor, you need to:

  1. Select mentors in order of priority (up to 3 mentors) from the existing list of mentors at KTU AIS;
  2. Fill out the registration form on the KTU AIS;
  3. Write a motivational letter in which you need to mention why this mentor should be appointed to you. Think about why you need a career mentor, set your goals!

The list of IF career mentors of 2022-2023 can be found on the KTU AIS.

We invite you to choose a career mentor and register on the AIS from September 12th until September 28th!

Moreover, during your studying time at KTU, you have the opportunity to select an academic mentor who will advise not only regarding your study modules, but also regarding the research matters!
